From November the 2nd until the 4th, TFR will present itself at the Asia Fruit Logistica in Bangkok. As Vietnam’s leading fruit company, TFR will showcase its portfolio of fantastic tasting Vietnamese fresh fruits and fresh cut. TFR’s export sales director, Mr Jeroen Pasman, is very excited to be in Bangkok with his sales team. “After the live AFL events in 2020 and 2021 were cancelled due to covid, we cannot wait to exhibit again in the most important fruit trade event of Asia. We have been participating since 2012 in every AFL, if not for covid, this would have been our 10th anniversary participation”.
When asked what makes this event so special, Mr Pasman explains. “The market for fruits in Asia will develop into the largest fruit market of the world. But if you compare the size of the Asia Fruit Logistica with the much larger European fruit logistica event in Berlin, you realize how much growth will still happen. The number of professional fruit companies in Asia is still relatively small. The Fruit Republic is one of the pioneers in Asia, and this event is very important to develop especially our exports within the Asian region. Till date there were still many phyto-sanitary hurdles for intra-Asian trade, but this is slowly improving. Vietnamese tropical fruits are finally getting market access to China, Korea and Japan.
But still a lot of work needs to be done. Vietnam can for example only export a few fruits to Thailand”. “What I enjoy a lot about the fair, is that the smaller scale of the trade show, leads to more in-depth talks and high quality meetings and contacts. But also the excitement which our fresh cut fruits always generates, is always nice to experience. When the visitors of the fair sense our jackfruit, they all come to our booth to enjoy this fantastic tropical fruit and learn more about our company”.
