Since we founded The Fruit Republic, we have focussed on keeping smallholder farmers included into global fruit chains. With our own an extension and quality assurance team we support hundreds of smallholders to comply with the highest international food safety and quality standards. For over 15 years we have been successful in supplying the fruits of our Vietnamese contract farmers directly to the leading global retailers all over the world. Together with over 450 staff, our own packhouse and distribution centres in Vietnam and the Netherlands, we are dedicated to expanding our sourcing programs. To be able to do this, a crucial element will be is to provide our smallholders with healthy and strong seedlings.
Despite the fast-growing acreage of tropical fruits in Vietnam, which already has reached 1.3 million hectares of tropical fruits, there are hardly any professional fruit nurseries. To professionalise the Vietnamese fruit sector, we are investing in a small but very professional citrus nursery. We are looking for a nursery supervisor, who under the guidance of our fruit production manager in Vietnam, will help to develop and supervise this nursery. This citrus nursery should become the example for the Vietnamese fruit sector of how a professional nursery should be managed.
Location: Based in Long Dinh, Chau Thanh, Tien Giang
Working time: Monday to Saturday.

We're looking for a young, energetic horticulture professional to join our citrus nursery operation. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on management experience in a well-structured nursery development project. If you're eager to learn, ready to grow, and passionate about plant propagation and nursery best practices—this role is for you.
The main responsibilities of this position are:
· All aspects of citrus nursery production from mother blocks to hardened seedlings
· Propagation, grafting, and plant health management
· Maintain nursery hygiene, irrigation, and fertigation systems, enforce regulation of visitors
· Coordinate with the production team to ensure timely and quality supply of planting material
· Ensure compliance with phytosanitary regulations and certification standards
· Report directly to the Fruit Production Manager on progress, plant performance, and challenges
· Support continuous improvement of nursery protocols and practices
Desired qualifications and skills: our dream candidate
You combine a good education, such as a BSc degree in agronomy or horticulture, with work experience in a citrus or Tree nursery. Our dream candidate is a son or a daughter of a citrus nursery owner or citrus farmer, who always loved working on the family farm, studied at an agriculture university, and has his/her first few years of work experience in the citrus sector. You are now looking for a job with a big impact. Instead of working hard on making a very small impact, in already very much optimised production systems, you will have the chance to pioneer in the amazing Mekong Delta, with a great team, where still big breakthroughs in productivity can be made. With 250,000 hectares of citrus fruits, all managed by smallholders, your work will positively impact the lives of thousands of smallholders and their families. You will be supervised by an experienced South African citrus production specialist, who is leading our citrus fruit production team in Vietnam.
Qualifications and skills
· Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, horticulture, agronomy, or a related field (BSc required)
· Minimum of at least 4 years’ practical experience in nursery or propagation management (preferably citrus or tree crops)
· Energetic and motivated attitude, with a hunger to learn and grow in the role
· Ability to supervise daily operations
· Strong understanding of plant propagation, nursery hygiene, pest and disease control
· Fluent in English
· Willing to relocate and commit to the project long-term
